Deliverables

Sign family, maps, renderings

The underdeveloped Central Business District doesn’t reflect the true character of Cincinnati. Many visitors and workers don’t know the area, miss what downtown has to offer, and aren’t sure how to get between places. That keeps the district from becoming a lively, connected part of the city.

This skate park sits near the corporate buildings that host Cincinnati’s business visitors: the Duke Energy Convention Center, the Hyatt, the Millennium Hotel, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Today it goes unused, in a spot that doesn’t fit the people around it. We proposed expanding it into a space that creates business opportunities and a break from urban intensity.

Using existing structures to bring more natural elements into the district, give people a reason to walk the Queensway, and extend the Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) brand and pattern in new ways.
