Households in Southwest Ohio could add to nationwide water conservation, saving water for agriculture and indirectly helping drought-stricken areas. But water use can’t be tracked quickly or easily: meters are hard to reach, and there is no simple way to see or share the numbers.
Dated measurement and low awareness lead to poor conservation habits. That raises water bills, raises the price of produce at the grocery store, and puts more strain on the environment.
